Terms of Service

Last updated: July 18, 2026

Welcome to Splitly ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. Eligibility & account

You must be at least 13 years old to use Splitly. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your login credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity that happens under your account.

2. What Splitly does

Splitly helps groups of people record shared expenses, split them, and track who owes whom. Splitly does not move money. All settlements happen outside the app between the members themselves.

3. Your content

You retain ownership of the expenses, trip details, photos, notes, and other content you enter. You grant us a limited license to store and display that content to you and to the trip members you share it with, solely to operate the service.

4. Acceptable use

  • Do not use Splitly for anything illegal, abusive, or fraudulent.
  • Do not upload content you do not have the right to share.
  • Do not attempt to disrupt the service, access other users' data, or reverse engineer the app.
  • Do not add another person's personal information as a guest member without their permission.

5. Guest members

You can add non-registered people ("guests") to a trip using a name and optional phone number. You confirm that you have their permission to record this information and that you will delete it on their request.

6. Accuracy of balances

Splitly calculates balances and suggested settlements automatically from the expenses you enter. We do our best to keep this correct but we are not responsible for disputes, disagreements, or losses between members. Always confirm settlements with the other party before paying.

7. Service availability

Splitly is provided "as is" and "as available". We may change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or permanently available.

8. Termination

You can stop using Splitly at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. On termination, we may delete your data after a reasonable period.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Splitly and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of money, data, or goodwill arising from your use of the service.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes we will notify you in the app. Continued use of Splitly after the change means you accept the updated terms.
